is a series of publications on contemporary art. The magazine is published by vzw Mark and the University College Ghent, in English and distributed all over the world in specialized art bookstores and museums.

    A Prior Magazine/Beaufort 03, presents a visitors guide by artists. The guide contains photograhps, poems, letters and freely written contributions by 60 international artists, a specially commissioned poem on the Belgian coastline by Dutch poet and artist Maria Barnas, a first taste of Belgian philosopher and writer Dieter Roelstraete’s poetic escapades and a short story written especially for the occasion by Flemish novelist Jeroen Olyslaegers.

    A Prior Magazine/Beaufort 03 counts 108 colour pages, can be acquired for only 3 euro at all touristic servicepoints along the coast and our regular (art)bookshops and contains a gift voucher of 12 euro as a reduction on a regular a prior subscription.

    and Anton Vidokle, based on public conversations in New York and Brussels Summer 2008.

    Based on The New York Conversations, a project realized by A Prior Magazine and the artists in the summer of 2008, this new issue brings an edited transcript of conversations between artists, writers, curators and the audience on modalities of power and status and the role and position of the creative entrepreneur, be it artist, writer or curator in the artworld today.
